I think you know what I need it for :p

But if you can get your hands on one thats decent and working, Id be more than willing to pay for shipping or whatever. Im not really sure where I can buy them, as Id rather not go ebay route because shipping will be a lot :-/ Any ideas?

We can't do that here....all old equipment was paid for by the state or through donations/grants.....when they are replaced, they get surplused....and then auctioned off. We hold surplus auctions 2 or 3 times a year to clear out storage. By then, most anything of value has been redistributed to a needy department.

I have one I am selling, only asking $10 for it picked up. Would probably cost a bunch to ship......

PM me if you're REALLY interested, I don't want to take it to UPS more than once so you'd have to accept cost of shipping blind, of course I'd only charge you what they charge me + $10 for hte projector.

It's the 3m 955.

DIY projector. Have a spare LCD that im stripping...just need an OHP now :D

Trust me when I say this, the OHP version kind of sucks... Go with a fully enclosed with metal-halide light source.

hehehe i remember my dad having one similar to this.. an EGA LCD thing that was transparent that sat on an overhead projector. (EGA is precursor to VGA for those who dont know - 16 colors, CGA was 4 colors, VGA is 256 colors)

The darn thing required its own videocard to work. It worked but the scan lines on it were pretty evident as the refresh rate of the LCD was sooo slow.. but i must say it was impressive and the darn thing cost a pretty penny.

lol nice. Yeah, I really just dont want to take the time to build one of the nicer ones, and risk messing it up somehow :-/ I know this will be an easy project with good results

Funny you guys mention this. I have a 17" LCD with a totally busted-ass chassis, and we're located directly adjacent to university storage.

Should I? :p

Look around for a used "Elmo" - it's basically a video camera on a lighted stand - frequently used for presentation rooms and Video conferences

Baseband and "S" video out.

Reminds me of the reverse disappearing ink pens they had - one would write something (nasty of course) on the film and when the professor turned on the pj the heat from the halogen lamp activated the ink. That's a dirty trick!
