Anyone have a urinal installed at home?

Doesn't a urinal makes sense for the home?

I'd love to get a full length urinal but you just don't see those anymore installed. The ones that start at like chest level and go all the way down to the floor are the best IMHO. This way, people of all heights can use one. I think it is also cleaner as the dripping piss common to men's rooms (with normal half height urinals) would end up in the full length urinal drain instead of on the floor. Plus, with a drain on the floor like that, you could just mop the floor into the drain. And a urinal saves water when you enter the restroom to pee only.

I don't know but I get alot of strange reactions when I mention this idea. Why not??

Standing within 10 feet of a urinal in sock feet would disgust me.
I don't mind getting splashback on my shoes, but sock feet? Ugh.

You need more toilets to clean?

You could always sit down to pee. Gives you more reading opportunities and makes less of a mess. Plus, you don't have more plumbing to install, more bathroom real estate to use up by having two toilets and you don't have to clean both either.

Peeing like a woman actually makes way more sense than your idea.

But remember that this is in your own home, not some bar/restaurant/office building etc... I'm assuming that you would be more careful in your own home... And with a full length urinal instead of the usual half length ones seen today, there should be no pee on the floor.

One of my coworkers has a waterless urninal in his house. Seems to work.

Edit: technically, it's a waste basket, but it does save a trip down the hall.

Well my argument is that by using the urinal to urinate, it keeps the toilet cleaner. Guys peeing standing up inadvertently splash the seat from the stream entering the water. Even if you have good aim and don't directly pee on the seat, I find that it still gets splashed. And this angers female users of the toilet.

Oh, I've also dreamed the dream for years too.
Too risky to go all in, IMO. Maybe someday when I have a 7 bathroom house.

The only time I've ever seen that was in the house of a gay couple. It was indeed one of the neat old high-sided ones. I thought it was cool but frankly it only seems to make sense in an all-male household.

Urinals make alot more splash back than a normal toilet. You'll have piss all over your bathroom in a 5 foot radius of the thing.

Full height urinals are no better? It still splashes out and get on the nearby floor, and worse, your feet. While females won't use it directly, I think they'll still be angered by the mess if the urinal is in the same bathroom as the sit down toilet.

Half heights are better than full heights - more difficult to make a mess assuming that you are not an idiot and stand close enough so the "drip" doesn't fall short of the urinal.

So lift the seat up? Or pee sitting down. What's so hard about that? :whiste:

Those solutions are a lot easier than your proposed solution. Good luck convincing your wife to tear up your bathroom and install a urinal. LOL! In fact, you should video that conversation and post it on youtube.

I was about to google waterless urinal and then busted out laughing after I scrolled down
