Its not AT&T you have to worry about, its the company delivering it to your prem....the 'last mile'.
Quite honestly (and I'm hard on carriers) AT&T has provided top notch service and support thru their MIS (managed internet service).

I've had mixed review with AT&T and their service. We had 1 T1 from them and had a crap ton of problems. Because we were the small guy, we constantly were down because we were a small shop. We had so much downtime it was rediculous. We eventually just made a switch to Time Warner and have been fairly happy. I guess spidey07 is in a big shop and they get good service ....
