Anyone have a suggestion for boat design software?

Basically I'm looking for modeling software something along the lines where I could take a flat wireframe mesh and deform it/enter values to create the actual shape into it and have drag and any other relevant factors calculated?

Perhaps there's something out there better than my idea and I'm just doing research.

My goal is to design a mahogany runabout powered by batteries/solar electric which can seat four. Such a craft would need to minimize drag to maximize range.

Suggestions?

The most software used for that task is SolidWorks, AutoCAD and ShipConstructor (that its AutoCAD based) but all those are expensive "pro" tools.

Theres http://www.3dboatdesign.com a CAD tool for just design boats and more affordable.

Don't.

Water and electricity don't mix; the energy density of batteries is too low and the expense too high; and you'd get about the same propulsion from catching a breath of a 5 KT wind with your skivvies as you'd get from solar with the square footage you have available. It'd be bad enough with lightweight fiberglass/aluminum, but mahogany?
