Hello ...ugh...I had a stroke at the age of 13. Yes omg?...yes im aware that even babies have died of strokes but im just wondering if anyone else here has had one. Btw i made like a 99% recovery i dont have anything slouching, hanging and minimal short term memory dmg. The Cause of my stroke? well after doctors did one of those spinal fluid thingies where they stick a long long needle in you spine to draw out fluid they found i still had traces of chicken pox in my spine even tho i had chicken pox when i was like 10 months old. But ididnt get chicken pox again. Just a stroke. I wsant eve overwight or had high BP or anything i was 5'4 and weighed 115 and ate healthy. Though a month before i had the stroke i was also admitted into the hospital for having "viral meningitis"...hmm i have an odd history...oh well atleast i cant be drafted because of my medical histroy..even though i dont think im sick now. I do have a higher chance of having another one and maybe a heart atk but i eat and exercise well :/..anyway give feedback?

The stroke apparently hindered you from using commas and complete sentences. Other than that you seem normal though.

edit: no harm meant...just teasing him. I am glad you made it through ok

If the guy was a jerk, I'd say "Pwned" or quote you FTW. But that's not cool bro, he's young and had a stroke. Oh well. Well, I've heard of people pretty young getting strokes, but it's always amazing how they can get through them nowadays. You should be fine man, anymore they do pretty well and people don't have reoccuring strokes as much. Teddy Bruschi had one and came back to the NFL.

This isn't Aim. You're lucky your condition was so damn serious or I'd make an inappropriate joke.

I was just poking fun at him. He seems like he has a sense of humor and he pulled through it fine. Take it easy.

My mother had her first stroke when she was 17. Luckily it only affected her eyesight then. She had three more strokes at about the age of 27 - two on her left and one on her right. She went through rehab and learned how to walk and talk properly again but still had a slight limp from her left leg, didn't regain full use of her left arm, and had a lopsided smile.

At the age of 31, she had three more. This time, two on her right and one on her left. She attempted rehab again (again at TIRR in Houston) but after leaving rehab she gave up and became a bitter and mean woman who abused me and my brothers and tried to kill us and herself multiple times by setting the house on fire. Unfortunately, she was never successful in killing herself but luckily me and my brothers were around to put the fires out.

Now, she's in a nursing home and has been since about 1993 thanks amazingly to the state of Texas. She's still a bitter and hateful woman and I've had no contact with her since 1990 when I graduated high school and moved the hell out of the home.

BTW, before any bleeding hearts out there try to bag on me, the strokes never affected her mind. She was put through so many tests that it's unreal and her brain and cognitive abilities were fine. She just gave up on life and took it out on those around her. So don't judge me until you walk a mile in my shoes.

To the OP, I wish you much health and happiness in your life. Take care.

Ever since my stroke my parents have told me my attitude changed too. I cant deny it. Somethings that people do annoy me now than before i guess. But i still have a sense of humor. After having viral meningitis, cat scratch disease, stroke...i think im doing good so far.. I just hope i do not lose myself with any future events.

I'm 33 and am well beyond that 'issues' period in my life. Like I said earlier, walk a mile in my shoes and you'd understand. Besides, never talked to her much after her last set of strokes anyway unless it was me telling her to put the hot coffee down or to get the lit cigarette off of me or to yell to my brothers to get the water. Hey, I consider the whole period a learning experience. It made me a stronger person and who I am today. But thanks for caring.
