Anyone have a storm launcher?

My son wanted one, and my wife talked to someone who said they were junk with a high return rate. I don't remember exactly who she talked to.

Yeah I was really excited to get one after having the Aero Ace, but from the people I've talked to and reviews I've read, they are basically junk. They don't do anything (land, air, or sea) very well. They do make more expensive versions that are supposed to work much better, although they cost like $200+. Someone on AT got one when they first came out and returned it iirc.

I've heard the higher end ones that started the whole craze are great, but VERY difficult to fly. And that the Aero Ace version is just flat out junk that doesn't have the power, nor control to function as the originals did.

The Aero Ace isn't flat out junk, it's just a toy and not a hobby airplane. I flew my Aero Ace more than anything else in my hanger (until my backpack smooshed them 🙁) because they were so easy to use - walk to your backyard or to the nearest park and have at it! They were nearly indestructible too when flying around and I didn't mind kids playing with it, unlike my bigger planes.

Wow, im gonna have to forward those reviews.....

Just go watch the YouTube videos. Apparently it can fly decently with a few mods, but it seems to take a lot of practice, and even then it doesn't fly as nicely as an Aero Ace or other little airplane. You could get 3 Aero Aces for the price of 1 Storm Rider & battery!

I'm not referring to thier other planes. I have the biplane and jet, they're great fun. But the storm launcher doesn't have the power to move along the ground reliably. If the motors+props were twice as powerful, it'd be alot better. The Aero Ace promises less, but gives more, for a much lower cost.
