Anyone have a spare atx power supply sitting around that they don't want?

I was trying to cut something behind my PC while it was on and I kinda accidentally stuck my knife in the fan of my power supply and killed it. 😱

I'd buy a new one, but I'm broke.

are you riding an exercise bike with a generator attached to power your PC right now? 😀

Replacing the fan isn't an option?

Maybe, I guess if you have an extra 80MM fan I'd take that too 🙂

Use a desk fan/box fan to blow air into it?

It doesn't work with no fan. I think there's some kind of safety that turns the PSU off if a fan isn't attached.

I'd just get an 80mm. I will have a few in a few months when I replace my 80mm with CCFL lighting.

Like predicted, you make a thread mocking someone and not 12 hours later you post a thread professing your own stupidity. Bravo!

well I have several dead atx psus (don't ask) but I've been meaning to either figure out how to fix them, or to take the fans out. I guessI can give you one if you pay shipping.

Hell, I ran a power supply without a fan for some 4 months.. lol

I tried that, the machine wouldn't boot at all after I cut the wires to the fan.
eh.. I just left the fan in there hooked up and.. non-turning.

*shrug*
