ROFLMAO.... if yer lucky you *might* snag something for $400, but, realisticly, I'd say $500 is 'bout as low as you can go.

true, but its a badass apartment and i got it all to myself and my cat. Plus, its a month to month lease, i live above a cigarette and porn store, and I have 25 bars all within a block of me. They make up for the little ohio downside. :)

try santa ana, or costa mesa (expensive area though).. also try Brea and Bruna Park (sp??).. should be cheaper areas.. fullerton might be also area worth looking at..

I know santa ana is cheap though, provided you dont mind the crime and the latino community.. though there are areas of santa ana that are relatively crime free

Single bedroom apt in Muncie, IN, about 650sq ft is costing me $525/month + all the utilities (uhh.. $700/mo I guess). And I thought that was pretty cheap!

Nice complex though. I could have gotten cheaper, but I wanted something professionally managed and not alot of college kids hollaring and screaming at 4am outside. If I had been willing to sacrafice and lived in a hole in the wall, I coulda gotten a place for around $350.

I guess canada is good for something after all. I'm paying 800/month cdn, + utilities split 4 ways for a 4 bedroom townhouse. :)

That's in Manitoba though :p

I was paying $600 for my large bachelor. I don't like bedrooms though, just more furniture you need. Wish there were more studio apartments around this area.

Be very glad you are not living in Westwood, California (by UCLA)

Rent is a horrendous $1600 for:
-- 2 bedroom apartment w/ living room,
-- 1.5 baths,
-- 2 parking spots (maybe)

Horrible...huh?

i live in newport north, 1.5 miles from uci in the eastern most part of newport beach. rent is $1606 for 2 bedrooms 2.5 baths in a 2story apartment. there are 4 of us which equates to $401.50 for rent alone. not bad compared to the ppl living across the street from campus where they pay at least $100 more.

there are some more, but i'm too lazy to find them now (need sleep)

if all else fails, try your local newspaper (esp the sunday classifieds)
yes, rent in "sides" of california sucks.
my friend in fresno (central california) rents 500$ for 1br. used to stay in a somewhat ghetto place for 325$ for 1 br!!

mine was 1100 for a frigin studio ... now i moved to a 2br for 1200$ (only because my roommate has been here for 7 years and they can't raise the price too much. otherwise it would be 1500$)
