Anyone have a "quantum dot" display?

been reading up on them. They might have blacks comparable to OLED. Anyone have one? Done comparison?

Blacks are a bit better because it uses a blue backlight instead of a white one, but black level is nowhere near OLED, so neither is contrast ratio. The real strengths are that they are brighter than standard LCD and they have greater gamut (both of which are needed for HDR), that's it.

Did a little reading up on QD, the TVs that are out using that name are not QD displays, just LCD using QD to filter the back light. But if they do make QD displays they should have good black levels since they don't use a back light.

Why is there no 3D on these new TVs? I have over 20 of those discs...
Home 3D was a failure in the marketplace, so you don't find it on the new 4K TVs. Anyway, they want you to buy the new Ultra HD Blu-ray versions of those discs of yours. 🙂

At one point, manufactures just included 3d as a feature point as you got to the higher tier models. seems 3d in the home has not really progressed so now it's being dropped as a feature and will be only seen in a couple select models.
