I was going to say...
I thought you needed ambient light for home theater.

Another know-it-all pwned 🙂

btw- posted from my Wii!

Where do you get to the Opera browser at? I just got my Wii online and went through a couple updates....but don't see the internet browser...?

edit: think I found it. Another download :|

Yeah, it's in the Store category, under "Internet Service Trial". Pretty cool actually.

ambilight can be turned off, stuck on one color or left in dynamic (which adjusts as per screen changes).

So if you are watching football, you feel you are in the game, cause teh walls will be greenish too.

How does the light change color? Is it an instant change from say red to yellow or is it gradual like red > orange > yellow?

Think I just need to go to a store and check one out in person. Nearest store is an hour away, so that's why I got all the questions.

Sit through this or click on "skip", then click on the second link on the bottom that says "See TV in a Whole New Light". It'll have a small semi-interactive demo.

Also, from WIKI:

Ambilight versions:

* Ambilight mono (aka Ambilight 1): the same light effect is applied left and right of the screen, no light is applied to the top and bottom of the screen
* Ambilight stereo (aka Ambilight 2): the left and right side of the screen have separate light effects, no light is applied to the top and bottom of the screen
* Ambilight surround (aka Ambilight 3): the left, right and top side of the sceen have separate light effects, no light is applied to the bottom of the screen
* Ambilight full surround (aka Ambilight 4): all sides of the screen have separate light effects

I don't have an interest in it, but it's kind of neat.

Why would you want a tv that produces ambient light? This feature will kill the blacks in the movie/show you are watching.

hey, don't be racist. 😉

or write complete sentences in your sig 😉

Personally I think the ambilight feature is a total gimmick and a waste.
