Anyone have a Nissan Murano?

Drove a friend's once, had the cvt transmission (do they all?), it was kind of strange. Got used to it, but just felt differnt, no real shifts. Had plenty of power, it was real smooth, and the seats were comfy. Had the HID lights, not sure if thats an option, but was a lot brighter. Pretty nice car, but I dont know if its a good value in its class or anything...

my parents have one, SL (RWD). It's a strong car, nice interior. I can't speak for it's offroading capabilities (like anybody takes those offroad). Plenty of cargo room. I like the styling of the infiniti FX35/45 better but girls seem to dig the murano more.

One thing that bugs me is the A/C controls, it turns on A/C by itself which is annoying.

yeah I wondered about the transmission - I usually prefer 5 speeds but that does not seem to be an option on these

I am thinking of a new AWD vehicle, been looking at Audi and Subaru but I really like the look of the Murano.....

yeah, the CVT is nice to drive, supposedly saves gas to.

Longevity is the part that would make me wonder. Sure, they're great but they are still exceedingly rare in Autos. Subaru even dropped theirs after a few years due to reliability concerns.

Nope, auto CVT only although the '04 model has a manumatic available. I haven't driven one but I checked one out at the car show.
Seemed roomy and versatile. The interior was reasonably nice, better than most Nissan products.

They seem kind of costly to me, but if you're looking for a crossover SUV/tall wagon I think they're a good choice. The engine is the good ol' reliable VQ and I've read the handling is excellent for this class.

I have been looking at the Murano too.

I really want to head out and test drive one. I am scared I will fall in love with it and buy it. 😀

It's FWD.

It might be AWD.

The one I saw was AWD. Maybe they have different packages.

you can get AWD but if you don't it's FWD.

Thoughts ? I think it's ugly, just like the FX35/45 (even though I'm sure it's a great car otherwise).

If I'm going to make a $30k decision, it better look good to me first and foremost.

A guy at my job bought one.
I like the styling and it has a lot of space inside. Haven't driven one yet though.
I love the look of the FX.
