A lot of reviews right now covering flash drives mainly try to review how well it works with Vista's Ready Boost. Ignore their performance rating in regards to that, because ReadyBoost isn't doing jack right now.
2GB flash drives are becoming more mainstream than they were awhile ago. And it's fairly cheap. If you think you only need 2GB or storage, you should be able to pick up a cheap one anywhere(less than $50). 4GB flash drives are available now too.
Anything from Corsair, Sandisk, Kingston, PNY, etc. should do what you need.
Encryption is available for most of these brands too in case you need to secure your data.
Do you plan on purchasing in store or online(giving you more than 2x the options).
