Anyone have a LightScribe DVD Burner ?

I think the jury is still in on this. Sure it's cool looking and we all want the newest technology, but if we just wait a while it will be quicker and less expensive or it will have just died out all together.

id be interested to see how well the epson prints (photo or scanned image would be nice).... i have been interested in lightscribe but it seems its taking too long to come out to decent pricing.

and the lightscribe discs should become as cheap as the printable ones (one day 😕 )
Right now the blank LS CD-Rs are about a buck each. Knowing what HP charged for their consumer inkjet printer carts, I have my reservations about this whole LightScribe thing, although I love the idea from a technical perspective. We need Ritek and ProDisc to come out with some: 1) el-cheapo but decent media, that 2) burns on the label side faster than these first-gen ones do. Then I might consider it.

My friend just bought one and we jsut installed it today...even if it sucks, he got both a Seagate PATA 200GB HD and the 16x HP LighScribe DVD Write for $120 REFVKINGTAIL!!!!

Nise but I'll wait for color.

Probably not possible considering that a laser etches the image in the same way the disc is written.

You could have little packets of three colors in opaque cells that are turned clear by the laser.

Idea copyright Chaotic42 😉
