Anyone have a HSBC or Bank of China account?

What would be the best account to have if I were to be a world hopper?

When I was in China I saw a lot of BoC and HSBC. A little reading reveals HSBC is the biggest in the world. Would I be able to withdraw money anywhere in the world without fees with HSBC?

There are Bank of America in HongKong but my US ATM would not work there as they are not "linked." I suspect the same will be true for HSBC too. (HSBC has branches all over the world, and 3 years ago they expanded to the US)

I have a saving acct w/ HSBC because the rate is good, 3.5% APY right now...been with them for almost 2 years and so far so good.

The wife and I have an HSBC account, and we use it to withdraw money all over India. We were never charged for anything, and they had plenty of ATMs in the cities. I would imagine this is the case for other countries.

I have an HSBC account but have no use for an ATM card from them, just long-term storage with interest.
