i read the online manual (because i lost my personal manual that came with the calc). my problem is i don't know how to store certain numbers/variables in a way that i can actually use the stored variables/numbers and have the calculator calculate out the numbers. for instance i want to store me(mass of an electron) as 9.109 x 10^-31. i have it stored as 'me', yet i can't use this stored variable and have my calculator calculate an actual number.

thanks in advance.

If you all ready stored the value (9.109e-31) into a variable 'me', you should be able to hit the 'VAR' key, select 'me' and get the value. I have many quantities stored in variables and when I select the variable name I get the value.

If you just get 'me', you could try to hit the purple arrrow and eval.

If you have it stored as lower case "me", make sure that you are using it as lower case. It will look like upper case in the menu field.

The manual says this:

"Note that uppercase and lowercase letters are not equivalent, even though they appear the same in menu labels."

If this don't help I can try to find my calculator and figure it out on this end.

I know where my manual is, but, not the calculator. 🙂

thanks for your help people. so far i've gotten the variable stored as 'me' however, when this variable gets recalled it gets recalled '9.109*10^-31' (in quotes) which means i can't actually use the number for calculations. for instance if i multiplied that value by 10 i would get '9.109*10^-31*10'.
