I just bought the CM721F. It is pretty good for the price. I got mine for $250 shipped form Dell. The only gripe I have is the dot pitch gets a little bigger near the left and right edge causing a little fuzziness.

Hmm...Fuzzy huh? Never saw that in the other people who bought its statements. Anyone else have this monitor and if so you get the fuzz on the edges?

Well...I have never been known for my patience so I went ahead and ordered it from NewEgg.

I'll post my impressions after I have used it for a few days :)

Herbage: I used the reviews:

here at Newegg

and

here at CNet

to convince me.

1 last thing Andy. Have you heard about Hitachi going out of business and how will this effect the warranty? One thing I liked about it was the 5 year warranty. talk to you later.

Yeah, shoot me your email addy in a PM and I will be sure to let you know.

Not too worried about the warranty and Hitachi...I bet they hang around for a while from what I've read.

Andy just sent an email to you. Simply reply to it when you get the monitor and have a little bit of time to test it etc. and let me know what you think of it. Thanks a lot.

I've asked this question several times myself, to no avail. I've been planning on buying it myself and its finally fallen within the budget! So far, as you guys seem to have noticed, this looks like a great deal and monitor. FYI @ Dell & NewEgg (with the current Dell discount of 10% plus free 3-5 day ground) its only $1.23 more from Dell and should get to you in about the same time as from newegg. My benefit is I live in Austin, where Dell's located, so I can buy it direct from their factory outlet!

Maybe I have a bad one. I read on here that someone had the same experience with the Samsung 955DF. I believe it and the Hitachi are the same tube. Anyway, with som moire (spelling) adjustments, I got the moitor so that the sides don't look that bad. THe far left icons on the desktop do have some slight pixelation to them though.

Dang sorry to hear about the pixelation on the Hitachi Slap. Let me know if you ever get it totally gone and how bad is it? I like the monitor and wonder if that is a lemon you got or what? Let me know what comes of it.

Since it has a 5 year warranty, I may send it back one day if it starts to bother me to bad. I wish I would have held off and just bought one of the 19" Trinitron that TigerDirect is selling for $199. They are recertified but for $20 extra you can get one year replacment warranty. Not sure if anyone has purchased any of these.

I got my monitor to lok good by not using the highest res. Using 1152x864 it looks really good. 1280x1024 is where i was having the problems. I can live with the lower res. Probably better for my eyes anyway.
