Anyone have a Creative DxR3 working under Win2K?

I just recently upgraded to Win2K and everything has gone very smooth...except for the DxR3 card....

The only drivers for it are Beta...and they don't work. Does anyone have this card working correctly in Win2K and how did you do it? Thanks in advance...

I think the Dxr3 is still not supported in win2k.

I had one those cards in my machine before I upgraded to 2kPro. I don't use my computer to play DVDs anymore. From what I've heard software DVD is the way to go. I think WinDVD has the built in decoder, but don't hold me to that. I've also noticed that the passthrough cable from the Dxr3 degrades the overall video quality. You get kind of a washed out faded display sometimes.

Thanks, but first, I am not using the pass through cable for that reason, I only watch the DVD's on my Panasonic Super Flat TV via a S-Video cable. If I use software decoding, I can't use it on my TV, my Geforce DDR does not have TV out. Any other suggestions? Is there any other DVD decoder that does work in Win2K?

I have the DXR3 with Win2k. It works perfectly. I've never had a problem with it. I don't know what to tell you. What happens when you try to play a DVD?

What is your set-up? What drivers did you use? More info please. Well, it does work sort of. The beta drivers intalled without a hitch, but when I tried to install the program..the player. It BSOD's Win2K and performs a memory dump and reboots. I tried like 3 times and finally it loaded, but it said it could not load the unistaller, so I would not be able to unistall. IT also put a DXr3 icon in my control panel?

Funny, I didn't have any problems with the beta version. Everything loaded fine and the player plays without any problems.

My setup in W2K is:
KT7 Raid w/ Athlon T-bird 800 at 950Mhz
2x 128Mb KingMax PC150 at 133 CL2
2x30Gb 75GXPs in RAID 0
CL TNT2ultra
CL 6X DVD + Dvr3

Just got my AIW Radeon last week, though. Haven't had time to play with it, but I'm debating on what to get rid of and whether or not to ditch the whole Creative labs setup.

My H+ works fine in win2k. I heard that these are about the same card as the Dxr3 so maybe you should try the drivers from Sigma Designs

The DXR2 works OK in 2kpro.

I figured it out, thanks. My DXr3 was sharing with my SB Live 5.1...I switched slots and all was good...isn't it funny how so many problems can be traced to the SB Live...LOL..=)
