yeah i know its going to be loud as hell, but i'm more interested in the cooling. Anyone have this setup? seems like it would be a great combo..

i'm going to be cooling a XP-M 35w on an NF7-S.

Can't comment on that, but about a year ago I did have a 80mm Sunon (OEM Tornado i think) on an SLK-800 over top of a 2100+ @ 2300mhz @ 1.8v IIRC in an 8RGA+.

Cooled like a champ, but removed it almost as soon a I turned it on. My wife came running down the hallway frantically wanting to know what the h3ll was going on. I highly suggest a fan controller and I high voltage one at that.

well I have the SLK-947U with the 92mm Tornado and it's an excellent setup to overclock any XP.
For the noise get yourself a fan controller to lower the noise.

it is different, but i have a 92mm tornado on an sp97 cooling an xpm @1.85vcore clocked at 2.5. it stays at damn good temps (38 under load), so you should be pretty well off.

It'll be great, if it's too loud you can always put it on a control to lower the rpm. This is if the rest of your case airflow is setup well enough.

From svc.com:
We recommend using a Vantec Tornado 92x38mm fan, which flows up to 119CFM and a 20w/channel Sunbeam Rheobus fan speed controller, which is probably the only unit that can reliably control such a powerful fan. We now carry a 4-pin to 3-pin adapter to connect 4 pin fans such as the tornado fan to the 3-pin connectors found on most fan controllers.

There may be other high-wattage rated controllers now. A fan bus for all your fans is a nice thing to have.

Man I've got an slk-900a with just an SVC standard 92X25, and I am not getting over 42c under load at 2600 and you can barely hear it, use a sunbeam controler if you use the tornado, you can dial down to about half and still get real good performance

It will most certainly keep that thing cool. This could quite possibly be the best air cooled setup around. I had 80mm Tornado on an SLK-800U and an AX-7 in the past and it cooled extremly well. Of course, like you said, it will be loud. Honestly, while it cools well, IMO it's not worth the noise. I'm not very noise sensitve, and I kinda l like a little hum from my box, but you could hear the Tornado across the house. As far as fan controllers go, if you're going to "bridle" the Tornado, why not just get a quieter fan to begin with. That's what I ended up doing.

I had a Tornado 92x38mm on a Swiftech MCX-462. It performed well but was way too load. Also, why spend more money on a Tornado just to low volt it to the level of a lesser fan?
