Hi, I lost all my documents and I'm trying to get them back, especially my wedding videos! I found quite a list of softwares to use to recover data but which one is the best?

Any feedback and/or help would be great!

Thanks in advance!

How did you lose them? Accidentally formatted?

I've had decent luck with GetDataBack NTFS myself. They have a trial to see if their software can even read your data. Remember, do not install the recovery software on the disk you are trying to recover from.

Cool thanks, I'll try that.

To answer your question, the strangest thing is that I actually didn't do anything. The drive just... stopped working for no apparent reason! I turned the computer on and the drive was not accessible. System says it needs to be formatted. which I didn't do.

R-Studio is the best and GetBackData is pretty good too. But if I had to buy one, I'd get R-Studio.

Did you try both?
I have both.

Thanks I just checked R-Studio website. Can I install both GetDataBack and R-Studio and run them separately to see which one would recover the most data? Would the fact to have both programs running (thu not at the same time) affect the chance to recover the most data?

No problem installing both. Just make sure you are NOT installing anything on the drive you are trying to recover the data from.

Here're my results. I tried Get Data Back, R-Studio, and EaseUs Data Recovery Wizard 2.0. The three of them cost about the same price.

I purchased Data Recovery Wizard because it was the one that could recover the most. Although it didn't recover some data that GetDataBack or R-Studio could get (mostly songs, which I can always get back), it recovered my wedding videos and more pictures, which are priceless.

thanks all for your help!
