Anyone has experience using Data Recovery Software?

Hi, I lost all my documents and I'm trying to get them back, especially my wedding videos! I found quite a list of softwares to use to recover data but which one is the best?

Any feedback and/or help would be great!

Thanks in advance!

What exactly did you do, format the drive? Or did the drive die?

Anyway, most recovery software will let you install it, search for your files and show you which files it can recover, but it won't recover them until you pay for it. So, do a google search and try a few.

The program that has worked best for me is called File Scavenger. I have recovered data from a corrupt hard drive and a friend's SD card with it.

Thanks a lot for your input!
I actually didn't do anything with my drive. I turned my computer off on Saturday night and on Sunday when I turned it on, the drive was just unaccessible. The system says the disk needs to be formatted, which I didn't do. The strangest thing is that the disk is on the same hard drive than 2 other disk (I've partitionned that hard drive into 3 disks when I bought it 3 years ago) and these 2 disks are working fine...
