Anyone has any experience with Lacie external hard drives?

looking to buy the 250gb one that fits underneath the mini.

any other recommendations?

I bought a 40GB Lacie about 2 years (maybe) back. The person I sold it to still uses it to this day, although she never moves it around at all.

I've got one sitting right here. I've only used it once to back up my family pictures. Since then, its been unplugged so I can't tell you anything about the reliability.

The one thing I disliked about it was that you need to install a driver for it.

They are ok. We've sold them for a few years now, and we had a few fail. Nobody is perfect.

I think the suggestion to track down your own enclosure and drive works as well as their stuff.

The single drive ones are fine stay away from the multiple drive ones tho, they are trouble and their support at least based on what I've read at storagereview.com is totaly awful.
