For the past three days people have been having problems like crazy and Comcast has been denying its their problem. The service techs have kept telling users to reboot their modems. Personally I haven't even been able to contact their freaking tech support because of a recording that says they have had an "Unusually" high amount of calls and to call back later. Anyone know what is really going on? The problems started this last Thursday night.

I think the effected areas have been parts of GA, TN, IL, and WA. Maybe more, not sure though.

And they just posted something concerning gaming on their forums finally too...

All,

Please note that Comcast is aware of the issue and actively working on the solution. This thread will be updated by Comcast representatives (those who have the Comcast logo beneath their alias) with updates as soon as they are available. Thanks!

They are updating their nodes one by one, for the speed increase that is coming. Some already have the increase, everybody should by Jan. They have also been updating their computer system.

I'd recommend resetting the modem via the modem's browser access URL. For Motorola modems, it's:
http://192.168.100.1/config.html
This will clear out the Log files, and reset back to as-from-factory condition.
Doing this a few days ago, my download bandwidth doubled to over 3100 kBps. Their official speed upgrade for my area isn't scheduled for, until late December.
