Well looks like my warranty (for parts and labor for the entire refrigerator) expired right after a year passed after purchase of it and now the ice dispenser/maker won't make any more ice. Now I have to get it serviced but the center is quoting (over the phone) "$105 plus parts cost if any".

Uhm... is it me or is the cost a bit excessive for such a "repair" since the refrigerator was sorta an expensive investment in the first place? Arg, shoulda compared warenties between models...

Wduaqnug, that's what I'm afraid of.. I thought $105 was for the entire service with parts and even then I thought that was a bit high but then the lady said "oh and you'll have to pay for any of the parts as well" :|.

Friend of mine works at dent & scratch warehouse they have contacts with Sears and all major manufactors of appliances, they can order any parts for cheaper. If you willing to go Clifton, Nj or call them with your brand, model they can order new icemaker probably will be cheaper than calling service tech. Friend of mine probably will be willing to deliver it and install for reasonable fee
