Anyone had success with removing the region-lock on Pioneer drives?

I've found some DVD's online that I'd really like to buy (they're like ½ of what they cost here) on amazon.com, but they're region 1, and I'm in region 2. Pioneer 104S 10xDVD. I found this "patched" firmware on digital-digest.com, and before I order myself poor in region 1 DVD's, I'd just like to hear if someone have made this firmware work. I expect to uses DVD Genie afterwards and such.

You don't need the firmware sh*t...I use zone-selecter, this nice little proggie overrides regioncodes on my H+ as well as my DVD which happends to be the same as yours
