Anyone had mole removal surgery done before?

I have a few normal moles on my face, about 5-10. Nothing big or even remotely abnormal. But my parents want me to get them removed. Anyone did it before? Laser or scalpel?

they gave me a tiny shot of something to deaden it
then he slashed it off
whole thing took 5 minutes

took the bandaid off the next morning and it was fine

I have had about 7 removed from my back, neck, chest and stomach area. I have had them removed by laser and scalpel. The laser was used on a mole on my back. They leave a scar, but nothing major typically. I would be careful of the surgeon before you get something done on your face where it will always be visible. Realize that that scar won't ever tan and won't ever fully go away 🙁

my normal doctor wouldn't do it for that reason, the "specialist" can do it with minimal scarring

It would almost certainly be less noticable than the mole. My sister had one removed from her forehead and has a very small scar from it that you only notice if you know it's there.

had one removed on the side of my nose w a scalpel, didn't hurt at all. Went to the dermatologist and said i'm considering having this removed and he said let's do it and I was walking out of the door a few minutes later. Much less of a big deal than I expected it to be.
