Hi, just need some sugestion, if anyone has ATI 8500DV and any miniDV Camcorders, i'm planning to get Sony PC9 or PC110 and thinking of getting ATI 8500DV, i'm not sure if i need one ( the only one functionality i like is 1394+ 64Ram), Currently i'm usining Voodoo3 2000 16Meg and PIII800 and 512M ram, i'm just thinking that my Voodoo card is too old to support Digital Capture withoput dropping fps rate usinf stand alone 1394 card. Any experience with this configuration( miniDV + DV capture) and sugestions will be appreciated.

Thx Mike.

i have the card and a dv camcorder however it doesnt work for me!! there seems to be a problem with my motherboard and this card... i have an epox 8kha+ mobo...ive also heard of people having problems with the soyo dragon mobo however off hand i cant remember the model number...there seems to be a problem with the pci bridge chip which is whats used to send the firewire signal from the agp slot to the pci bus...hopefully a driver will fix this in the near future...

Your video card has no effect on firewire dv capture at all.
