I'm looking at getting one of these ($119) and I need to know if anyone has used them and how you like them.
I have an on-board Promise RAID controller that I'm using without the RAID functionality and it seems flaky. The drive connected to it takes forever to appear in Explorer and sometimes doesn't recognize the drive.
I'd like to be able to put CD/DVD burners on this along with hard drives. I'll be using it with Linux 2.6 and greater as well as Windows XP Pro.
Finally, I will not be using the RAID capabilities of this drive, but there is a slight possibility that I will use JBOD.
