Anyone had an allergy test done before?

I had a scratch test done. It's uncomfortable if you are allergic to the different allergens.

I happened to be allergic to all except one or two, so it was itching like a mother fvcker.

Yes, I had the scratch testing done on my back for about 50 different substances. The scratch tests themselves are no big deal, but the itching some of the tests created was not fun for while.

I'm actually starting to feel a little better for the first time in weeks. Allergies have killed me this season for the first time in my life (I'm almost 26). I hate to say it, but I'm not looking forward to next Spring. I may just end up moving somewhere cold and windy to try to keep from coughing so much.

they divided my back into 300 spots, and poked my back with 300 different toothpick thingies with a forked end. the one's that showed reaction they injected the substance into my bicept area. hurt (i was also 12 so anything hurt, specially near the bottom of your back). and the one's that show reaction on your bicept area are the one's you are alergic to

i had a test done before where they drew a bit of blood and tested it. Then a week later the hospital mailed me a letter showing what i'm allergic to. Evidently its the rye grass that kills me every spring according to the results.

My girlfriend had it done in two stages... She said it sucked, being as she was allergic to like 90% of the stuff... they stick you with like 40 needles each time...

Yes, i had it done twice when I was young. It didn't really hurt, just looked HELLA scary with all the needles they need to prick you with. Then afterwards, if you are allergic, those spots they pricked you start to swell up. Mine was really swollen and ITCHY. So uncomfortable and lasted for a week or two. Not a happy experience. Especially going through it twice.

Edit: I've had both the back and fore arm needle one done.

A similar one was performed on my son's arm (but not nearly 300), They use fine needles (I think there were like 10 in a group and he has like 6 groups done). He really had reactions to several of them. I rubbed Benadryl creme on those (after the test was completed) to help him with the itching.

I had one when I was a kid. The prodding on the back didn't bother me, but the 15 or so shots in the arm hurt like a bitch.
