I don't grow anything right now but I would love to get a nice hydroponic set up and grow my own vegetables and herbs for fresh cooking. I hate buying veggies from the store.

We started some pepper seedlings in May, but they didn't make it through June (got to about 2" tall, then started falling over).

The plan is to plant more seedlings next year after more research into what kind of post-2" care seedlings need and see how it goes.

Up until this year I had about 2500 sq. ft. of veggies and herbs, but this year we took it out because it was just taking too much of my time. When I had it I was real big on Cantalope and Basil(love my pesto).

BTW-I still have my flowers though.

did you use potting soil from the store or just use some of your own soil? if you used your own soil (and didn't sterilize it in the oven first), seedlings get what is known as 'damping off'...it's a fungus based problem...

otherwise, for the original question, for sonoma info, check out your local extension office for publications and tips:
