Heh! That was tongue-n-cheek!

There's a difference between making fun of dreamers and being one... ;)

Tuniq Tower is the end all but it's very hard to come by. I have the scythe infinity and it seems to cool off my PC ok...
PC Probe says 24C idle but CoreTemp is now giving me 47 idle ???
Shiz, I wish I knew which to trust more.

Well, An E6700 @ 3.5ghz WILL NOT RUN @ 24c even under water, so 47c is your correct temperature.

Try downloading the Intel Thermal Utility and see what it reports!

You trust both. The temp displayed in the BIOS and Probe 2 is read from a thermal diode on the CPU die, while CoreTemp displays temps read from the digital thermal sensors on the die, near each core. The temps are different because they are taken at different points on the CPU die. The Thermal Specification of conroe chips is 60.1C, which likely corresponds to the single thermal diode that is read by the BIOS and Probe II.

I have no problem believing that an idle E6700 running at 3.5GHz could have a temp of 24C as read from the thermal diode (BIOS), when in a case with excellent airflow, and in a room with an abmient temp several degrees lower - ~20C.

It really has to do a lot with your case. I don't know what to say other than the more research and more you are aware of your PC config, the better choice you can make for CPU cooling.

IMHO, what Scythe needs to do is come out with a Mine 4 (or Mine Infinity), if you will -- an Infinity with the fin density of a Mine 3, an integrated high-CFM 120mm fan, and a suitable controller. In other words, a better Tuniq Tower 120, not something that's maybe, kind of, sort of, like one...

I guess they're hung up on the idea of making their product line as universal and generic as possible. While this is nice, in a way (especially for them), they always end up with a compromised design -- does everything okay, but nothing particularily great...

That's what I like about the Tuniq Tower 120. It's just a bad ass, no compromise cooler without a lot of regard given to trying to please everyone -- not even the North American buying public. LoL! :)

Put another way, from what I've seen and read, the Scythe Infinity is close, but no-cigar!
