Anyone got the Canon A60?

Just got this camera and am wondering how to set it up. I know you can just set it to portrait mode or whatever to take pics but is there a way to set it up so it might take better pics under poor light? I got the manual but don't understand some of it.

Also if I set the shutter speed to fast would that wear it out faster/burn it up? I'm a newb this if my first camera.

Just wondering whats the best way to set this camera up? Also whats the box for when you bare press the shutter button down?

I won't answer the first 2 questions, but I believe the box when you barely depress the shutter is the aiaf system, or whatever its called...it shows what the camera focused on.

k so if I am taking a pic of someone I should put their face in the box or no? Also sometimes the box pops up to the side of the LCD screen.

Sorry for all the questions.

Don't worry about the box..like you said, the box will show up all over the screen..

actually, worry about the box if it is on something a decent difference in distance away from the person you are taking pictures of. also, once it has focused (ie when you have already half-clicked), it will not refocus until you let go of the shutter.
for low-light pictures, you are going to want to use a fairly high aperature and sensitivity. set it to ISO400 and F2.8, and then use whatever exposure looks about right for the brightness.
