I don't know why any one would complain it was too short. After every one who hated the first Max Payne said it was repetitive after 5 hours of game play.

Like gamespot stated, the game is densely packed with action.

And people who say this game is "linear", should just stick with RPG's then. I'm so sick of that critique used on any other game. There is a lot of depth in Max Payne 2 with a lot more happening in the game play and environment for it to be repetitive. The term "linear" actually would be welcomed in this game.

This may be a rather pathetic question, but does anyone know if this game will un with a Radeon DDR 32 MB? I may upgrade to a 9500/9700 sometime soon but might hold out until more advancements and until HL2 before upgrading.

You should be able to play it fine at 800x600 medium quality. Heck I'm playing it at 1024x768 everything maxed out 2x AA on a 64mb ddr Radeon 7500 ;) Runs good enough for me

so .. if i set my control panel for MP2 as APPLICATION PREFERENCE .. that takes precedent over what i set it in the control panel?

I pumped the game onto HIGH from within the game and still get around 65 FPS. not too shabby.

this is @ 1024 x 768 x 32

If you set your ATI control Panel to App Preference then set AA on in the MP2 control panel, then yes, the AA filter would be running during the game.

And there were just as many people who loved Max Payne and thought it was too short. 5-10 hours of gameplay is pushing it for many people, no matter how great the game is.

Why spend 40-50 bucks on a game that will last you 10 hours when you can get another that will last you 50 or 100? I'm not saying Max Payne isn't awesome, just that there are other games out there that will provide more entertainment for the money.

The first one was short as hell too, but still great. I will have to pick this up soon.

FWIW, I downloaded the first Max Payne and liked it so much I purchased it. Never would have purchased it otherwise.

Just got mine. It runs perfectly at 800x600x32 at medium settings. I actualy runs slightly better then the first one although at mas detail 1024x768 so I will try upping the quality until I reach a limit.

I did notice some minor bugs though. Sometimes the comic strips between leves do not play. Someimes if I stop and play them they go but sometimes nothing helps and I need to do it manualy, sometimes it plays and sometimes it plays but pauses in the middle somewere requiring another start. Also once it plays, I can play previous comics that could not play before. Anybody have any isses like this?

Also the backround vaoices like the TV or phone conversations or peaople I interact with in game sound very high pitch and fast so they are very hard to understand without subtitles, and somtimes even Max's voice becomes like this but at random. I get the same problem with UT2K3 voices with 3D hardware ecceleration but not without it. I use an aging but trusty Aureal SQ2500. Anybody get similar problems with other sound cards or know how to dissable hardware audio acceleration.

The game play is better then the original and I realy like the physics engine as it realisticly depics recoils from gunshots its is also nice to jump or open a dor on someone and see them fly away.

Not necessarily a bad thing. I used to hang out on the techtv.com message boards, with people asking how to hack, how to crack windows, etc...

Hopefully, the same wont happen here.
