SPAGHETTI WITH CREAMY SUN-DRIED TOMATO SAUCE

Active time: 35 min Start to finish: 40 min

5 slices bacon (1/4 lb), finely chopped
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1 large garlic clove, finely chopped
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
2/3 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup drained oil-packed sun-dried tomatoes, finely chopped
1 lb spaghetti
1 oz finely grated parmesan (1/2 cup)

Cook bacon in a 12-inch heavy skillet over moderately low heat, stirring occasionally, until browned and crisp, 6 to 10 minutes. Transfer bacon with a slotted spoon to paper towels to drain. Pour off all but 2 tablespoons fat from skillet. Add onion, garlic, salt, and pepper to skillet and cook, stirring occasionally, until onion is softened and lightly browned, about 8 minutes. Add cream, tomatoes, and bacon and simmer until cream is slightly thickened, 2 to 3 minutes. Remove from heat.
Cook pasta in a 6- to 8-quart pot of boiling salted water until al dente. Reserve 1 cup cooking water, then drain pasta in a colander. Add pasta and cheese to sauce and toss to coat pasta, adding enough reserved cooking water to thin sauce as desired.

Makes 4 to 6 main-course servings.

That's very similar to my baked spaghetti recipe :| I think the jerk stole it!!! I'll BAM him upside the head next time I see him!

I don't use brocolli though. Mushrooms, onions, garlic for me.

Here is my recipe

Go to store
Buy spaghetti TV Dinner
microwave
eat

My mom has a really good recipe but I can't think of all the details right now, but here are the basic ingredients

Spaghetti (duh)
Ground Turkey
Diced tomatos
pepper

Here is how I think it goes

Boil spaghetti in large pot. Cook ground turkey in skillet. Put diced tomatos and a bit of pepper in blender and whip until saucey. mix everything together, then put a bit more pepper on. It's really simple because my sister is allergic to dairy and soy, but it still tastes good!

What my mom does...

Buy some spaghetti sauce at Costco.
Dilute it and stick a bunch of ground beef in it.
Add some vegetables.
Maybe some meatballs.

Serve...

I rather have thick spaghetti sauce though :D

1) Make spaghetti
2) Add sauce
3) Profit?

I haven't made anything fancy in ages since I've just been cooking for one. Should brush up on that again.

I like my baked spaghetti:

1. Cook your pasta al dente.
2. Brown your meat.
3. Put it all in a baking pan.
4. Put in much veggies as you want (I like zucchini, squash, and mushrooms)
5. Pour spaghetti sauce (I like Prego Mushroom, Onion, and Garlic)
6. Sprinkle as much shredded cheese on as to your liking. (I like shredded cheddar / mozzarella).
7. Place it all a pre-heated oven for 250 degrees.
8. Wait 20 minutes.
9. Sprinkle on some parmesan and Eat!

 :)

I'll tell you my favorite way to eat it.

Boil spaghetti
Drain spaghetti
Add enough butter to coat all strands
Add Tony Chachere's Creole seasoning
Sprinkle with sweet basil
Top with powdered parmesan cheese (not flakes)
Enjoy!

Right. I meant prep was quick. It really doesnt have to sit in the crock that long, it just makes it more flavorful IMO.

Make a big vat of sauce yourself. Brown a couple pounds of meat. Put it in the vat. Cook for like 5-6 hours. Add spaghetti.

Delicious. Homemade sauce pwns.
