Anyone got an ATI Radeon 8500 running on Linux?

can you pm me with a solution, as I fully intent to install Mandrake 8.1 or Red Hat 7.2 when I get my pc back again in a few weeks. I have absolutely NO linux experience, and can't say I've seen the 8500 listed one way or the other on the Red Hat site. I really don't want to go back to PCI voodoo banshee graphics...
