Anyone got a PS controller hooked up to their PC and Madden?

I'm using a redoctane dual usb adapter to use a ps dual shock for madden and I was wondering if anyone else has a similar setup. The recievers are tagged with arbitrary numbers instead of the symbols for the buttons, but when I used an old MS Sidewinder, the buttons were correctly identified. To me this means that there must be a way to make a profile or something to give the proper symbols, and it seems like someone might have solved this as I can't imagine I'm the first with this issue.

I bought a radioshack adapter ($10 I think), and it works great. Vibration works, every button mappable iirc. I used it with madden 05 and it worked fine but i haven't played that in days

Button 2, 3 and 4 isn't quite as intuititive as the square, X, circle I'm used to was the point. The PS controller comes up as the arbitrarily numbered buttons whereas the sidewinder comes up as abcxyzlr instread of 12345678.
