I am assuming you have no coworkers or friends using it.

In that case, yes it is useless. But here at work, we have found it very useful for collaboration.

We have plenty of other collaboration tools at work that do what Wave does without the annoying interface.

I used up all 20 of my nominations (yes that's what they call it, it's not a direct invitation, but only a nomination) just yesterday.

I now have almost 70 people in my contact list with Wave (yes they are all people I already know prior to wave coming out). I agree that with limited friends with a Wave account you would be bored there after one minute. Since I have tons of friends on Wave we always have something going on. Either this totally messed-up collaborated online novel that some friends started (which is a ruckus) or just playing sudoku together. Everything is always fun.

If I ever get more nominations I'll give some to AT. I remember back when GMail was new I sent out some 40+ invitations to ATers.
