Does anyone use 4 sticks of DDR2 on a Gigabyte DS3?? And if you do are you having any problems? Are they all the same memory size or different?

Also, any experience with Kingmax DDR2?

i'm using 4x1gb OCZ 4-5-4-15 DDR2 800. i can't overclock as high with four as just having two. i was around 3.2 with 2x1GB, but when i upgraded to 4x1GB i'm only stable at 2.8Ghz. I can use ANY 2 of the 4 and get 3.2+GHZ. it's strange.

using e6300 at 2.8Ghz with Vista x64.

If anything I'd trust P965's memory controller over 680i's memory controller on stability side. And my 680i handles 4 sticks quite well. Tried different sticks also (2 Infineon sticks + 2 Micron sticks) You should be fine. Just remember that you might need to give slightly more voltages and/or loosen timings.

Yeah I'm trying 2x1GB of Kingmax DDR2-800 + 2x512mb OCZ Gold DDR2-800 memory (all at the same time) at DDR2-850 but I need to put 2.1v through to get it stable. With just the Kingmax ram I need 1.9v to get it memtest stable at 850MHz.

For some reason in memtest, the bandwidth goes from 3200mb/s with all 4 sticks to about 4200mb/s with just the 2 Kingmax sticks. Why does the bandwidth go down so much with 4 sticks if they are all running at the same speed?

I'm only running WinXP right now so I don't think I need 3GB of memory. Plus because of the higher voltage, there's more heat AND the DIMM slots are so close together (hence why I took the OCZ out) that the heatspreaders on adjacent slots are touching. That's not a good thing right?

I have 2X1GB OCZ Plat rev2 PC2-6400-C4 and 2X1GB Corsair XMS PC2-6400-C4 for a total of 4X1GB in my DS3. My RAM is stable up to 475 at 4-4-4-15 with 2.1V, but my chip craps out WELL before that. I can run 8X400 all day long with 1.5V bios, 1.42 after vdrop, but I am not comfortable with a 70 C Intel TAT level. I run it at 390 4-4-4-12 with 1.45 bios, 1.38 after vdrop and TAT temps stay under 60.

I guess that depends how you look at it? :D If you think that'll help distribute heat more evenly, that could be a good thing. But yeah 4 sticks definitely heat up more than 2 sticks and require more voltages. On my board, I also need to give 0.05V more for NB which is already hot with 2 sticks. I'm looking to buy a small fan or a specialized RAM cooler.
