Anyone good with Nitro PDF? Know how to get rid of the tabbed interface?

At work we were all given licensed Adobe Acrobat's. I take work home a lot and needed a good PDF program. Acrobat is too expensive, but Nitro is a good price. I'm using the trial now and like it except for one feature.

Everytime you open a PDF it opens as a new tab in the same main window. I've looked everywhere and haven't found how to disable this. I often have multiple PDFs open to compare them. I need all my PDFs to open in new windows, not new tabs. I've googled, and looked through the Nitro help file with no success, and they don't have a user forum.

Anyone ever have an experience with this?

I just upgraded to Nitro PDF 6 from 5. I have never noticed any problem. I don't use tabs, so I can't comment on your issue. But, I'll go play with it. Been using Nitro for over 3 years - love it!

OK - I see your problem. You want to view two PDFs at the same time so as to compare them. Unfortunately, the tab system doesn't have that option. You can switch from one PDF to another, but there is only one internal window. Further, you can't open two iterations of the program at the same time.

So, my suggestion is, submit it as a new desired feature. That is one of the options in the Help ribbon.

Yea, that's basically my issue. I'll submit the request, but with my luck it'll probably be a year before that feature might show up, heh.

In the meantime - try a work around. Use Acrobat Reader (free) for one PDF and work on another in Nitro - split screen windows.

I will submit the same suggested improvement. 🙂
