I'm writing my eng paper and he wants (2) in-text citations...one of my sources is from a newspaper online through Ebsco (technically a hard-copy) and i am doing this in APA style, just want to know if this is right or not...this is my WHOLE paragraph that i wrote out, in bold, near the bottom, is my citation though. The quote starts with 'Douglas Lowenstein'

Some politicians want to take it into their own hands and make it a law to sell violent video games to minors, but the courts have consistently ruled that video games fall under the First Amendment protection. Douglas Lowenstein, president of the Entertainment Software Association, agreed, In nine out of nine cases, federal courts have struck down these grandstanding efforts by politicians to ban video game sales to minors. Price, Matthew, (2006), Free speech often wins over video game laws: Industry fights back against the attempts to enact restrictions. The Daily Oklahoman.

That looks pretty close to what you'd want on your works cited page, but your in text citation would just be (Price, 2006).

I usually use this site when I'm writing papers.

This is high school right?

Douglas Lowenstein, president of the Entertainment Software Association, agreed, In nine out of nine cases. Federal courts have struck down these grandstanding efforts by politicians to ban video game sales to minors.

Run-on sentence. Ditch the comma between cases and federal.

no, not high school, its a college paper.

Dawnbug, thats the way i had it before but wasn't sure if it were right, i did google the problem but it didn't give me the specifics i wanted. I will look thru that site you gave though.

Also, would it be .... Price, (2006). ?

and also, it would go at the end correct? Or at the begining of the quote?

It'd be all inside of the parenthesis-- ... (Price, 2006). And it'd be at the end, yes.

Well, its a 'Problem-Solution' paper.

I am supposed to find a problem, then come up with 3 of my own solutions. I've got most of my paper written, but having some issues w/ in-text citation as my book is stupid and doesn't really explain it all that well when its coming from a newspaper. Wasn't sure if it would be the same as w/ a book or what, one site said that i needed to have the article title in there as well as the date and everything. So i came to AT for help. ^_^
