anyone gone for Flash MX 2004 Developers Cert?

http://www.macromedia.com/support/training/certified_professional_program/flmx2004_developer.html - being urged by emplyer to try for it but they wont pay for the class. I been flash programming for 3 years now but only lately did i really get into it since AS2 kick arse.
So is it worth getting? that hard to achieve? can you pass it without a class? There book don't release till may so may wait at least until then to at least get that first...

What do you need the cert for? If you've been doing it for 3 years already, your portfolio should be enough to get you a job.

I agree. I don't think in the design world you'll need to depend on any certs. Sure it's nice to have if the market becomes saturated but even then your portfolio is your strongest asset.

Look how unimportant CIW certification has been... even though it's the only one of its kind. I may finish it but it's hardly a priority.

BTW, if you want to speak to those who've completed/experienced it, I'm sure the members of Flashkit can help.

I agree I probobly shouldn't need it since my experienc in years alone has shown off what i can do but:

so i'm not really the one wanting it...more so the employer seeing the site and saying wow this would be a neat thing for my programamers to have.
All those flashkit people are designers mostly (while i couldn't even draw a good circle with the circle tool 😛) but definately been looking there...
