Anyone go to the US Air Force Academy?

I'm trying to decide what to do next year. So far I have:

United States Air Force Academy (Full Scholarship)
University of Washington (Full Scholarship)
Washington State University (Full Scholarship)

I want to major in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering. It's really between the Academy or UW where I'd participate in ROTC. The Academy is pretty technical so I figured someone here might have gone there and could shed some light on it.

I come from an Air Force family and it has been my dream to serve. Afterward I'd like to work for Boeing or Lockheed as an engineer.

I was planning on going, but I didn't want to wait until I was 17.

From what I was able to find out, it's no picnic. Darn near like a 4 year boot camp, especially the first year. However, if you do end up going in, you're pretty much guaranteed to make at least Colonel, and you pretty much need to go there to get into the upper ranks.

If I could, I'd go right now.

If you can handle the Academy route, go for it! I hear it's pretty hard core...

ROTC for myself at the University of illinois! Fun stuff.

Take the Academy over ROTC.

Much better when it comes to promotions and/or resume.
