I did a search, so I'm not sure if this is a repost, but has anyone been getting random IMs on AOL Instant Messenger from names like "Girl 2456789" with links to porn sites :( ?

Make sure you also don't have the realphx/talkstocks.net virus/ad software installed.

Make sure you double check that it is not installed. Check your buddy info and see if it has changed.

I got one for the first time the other day... some bot trying to get me to go to some AIM icon site... found out another AIM user, "XeoBllaze," had sent it. Block and block. No spam since.

I get ppl on ICQ adding me or asking to authorize. Usually they have some webcam or dating profile thing in their info. Sometimes I let loose a string of expletives to them.

LMAO. You give chicks your screen name. That is pathetic.

nah...I don't feel like doing that...people do occasionally contact me when I don't have their screen names, and I don't want it to be a hastle to add them in. Is there any way to block ICQ users from IMing me? I try to warn the bots to the point of kicking them but it won't let me because they're on ICQ.

Anybody care to tell me how to remove it?

I ctrl+alt+del closed b.exe since I didn't recognize it, shift deleted it, and the symptoms stopped.

are you in college?

I guess I dont mean just chicks, everyone, with group projects to do, AIM is the only way to keep in contact...

with girls, cell phone #s are usually the first form of contact, AIM the 2nd :D - this is usually done with a text message from the cell phone, lol

Just use the option of having AIM ask you whether or not to accept the IM. Usually you can tell whether its spam or not by the SN because it'll be something like "HotGrl22315325798" with some big number and their warning % is always high too. I haven't had a problem that way.
