Anyone getting BBM when it is available on Android and iOS?

For those that don't use Blackberries, any of you planning to get BBM once it is out?

Do we still need texting plans once this roll out? I mean almost all my friends use a smart phone of some sort, so do you think BBM is a good way to text instead of texting via the SMS app?

Possibly. There's already whatsapp and among many others. BBM is going to have some stiff competition. Personally I just use iMessage, it's too difficult to get all family/friends to use an app.

I use the G-Voice app and am looking forward for it to merge with Hangouts. Even though Hangouts still have some maturing to do.

Well G-Voice is USA only while Hangout is global, I doubt they will merge it anytime soon.
