Any one else getting this error on install.

My copy seems to install ok using VMware so i dont think its my ISO.

I'm going to try the x86 version but the download servers are swamped and I cant get a connection:(

Works for me too, except for the usual driver hassles. I may try the 32 bit version in a bit after I've filed a few more bug reports on x64.

In another thread here they have MD5 sums for the ISOs. You could check yours against theirs; perhaps there's some file needed to install on your hardware that isn't needed for VMware...

Anyway, when does the error occur? Can you list the specs of the system on which you're installing Vista?

Cheers I'll try and check the md5 sums.

The error occurs after the windows loading page (right after the black screen with the loading files bar at the bottom)

My hardware is nothing particularly unusual (A64 3500, An8ultra, sata hard drive, ati x1800xl)

well my MD5 sum is E43502D0A15EADD551119D5639859E04 which is the same as another i found in a thread here so I guess I must have a hardware problem.
