YUp, it's a shit mouse, only n00bers who know nothing about input lag/ quality uses it. "or if one simply does not care" for internet browsing, i guess anythign will do.

The laser used is the same as mx1000, the first and crummiest of the bunch. The mouse was ment for rich snob computer illiterates.

I'm not biased, I got one as a gift, and my rich snob friend owns one.

It does track MUCH better on brighter "non visually uniform surfaces." Such as those hexagonal designed pads from X-trac.

That's about the only thing you can do to make it better. besides sending it back, or ebay.D:

Never had these problems. Dust on the sensor (especially hair!) will cause problems.

So true. My wife has (had) a pair of blunt tweezers that I keep next to the desk. Somehow my dog's hair has a way of finding its way up my desk and into the area between the sensor and housing.

p.s. unplug the mouse before looking straight into the sensor. Just because you can't see the lazer doesn't mean that your eyes won't feel screwed up after looking straight into it.

I don't see any dust of the sensor, especially not hair. I cleaned it anyway. Logitech also released a new Setpoint version, so I'll have to wait and see if it fixes it.
