Anyone from Spain?

My wife and me are planning a vaction to Spain at the end of August / beginning of September. Tickets are already purchased, now I just need to find some lodging.

While there are plenty of websites that use the same Sabre search engine which gives out overpriced listings, I found one site which is very detailed on Spain and gives reasonable prices: http://www.sleepinspain.com. I already made one reservation in Madrid, and plan to do anotehr one for Malaga.

Yet, for some reason, I have this feeling of uncertainty: what if. What if we arrive over there, and the prices turn out not as promised?

Has anyone used this site before?
Thanks.

Spain is one of only countries where you can show up at a hotel and get a very good room for cheap. Oftentimes, making a reservation over the phone doesn't really mean anything as they'll only take your first name or tell you straight out to just show up. They're VERY flexible. Such attitude can be disconcerting for an American, but it's just the way it's done.

Get the "Let's Go Spain" guide. Inside, there's a carefully researched list of nice hotels on the cheap. Cheap hotels in Spain doesn't mean that you'll get a ock infested hotel. Quite the opposite. Hotels/motels are inspected by a govt. agency so they'll be very clean.

Have fun and good luck. Madrid parties EVERY day of week all night long--especially when it's warm. It's insane! 😀
