Anyone from/near the Finger Lakes region of upstate NY? I need restaurant recommendations.

Tomorrow my wife and I are going to celebrate our 8th anniversary (actual date was on Tuesday 4-22). Her mother has offered to watch our 2-year-old son all day and overnight so we can have time to ourselves. I would like to take a nice romantic day-trip to Ithica/Corning area and end up dinner at a nice restaurant. Anyone from or near the area have any suggestions?

I am in Endicott NY (just west of Binghamton) and would also consider any suggestions for restaurants within a 45-60 min drive.

Well if you want to venture to Elmira, which is about 20 miles East of Corning (stay on 81/17 east past corning, then horseheads, then you'll get to Elmira.) There's a resturaunt there called Pierce's, it's an expensive place but the food is probably the best I've ever had. The atmosphere is really nice too. As far as corning goes, theres plenty of nice resturaunts on Market Street. I can't think of any specific names, you should be able to find a site about corning that lists em. Make it to Pierce's if you can though, the food is great.

Edit: Watkins Glen has some really nice winery/resturaunt type places too, real romanticy and crap.

Thanks - I think I have heard of Pierce's

My wife has relatives in Elmira and Watkins Glen - so I am familiar with driving through the whole area (we try to do the Finger lakes wine tour and see a few wineries every year too). I just never can remember the names of the restaurants we drive by.

Knapp Winery has a good restaurant (and good wine too) but it's just north of Ithaca. Might be a little far for you.
