Anyone from Monterey, California and area?

As subject says, I'm planning a one night stay at Monterey. I'll be visiting the Aquarium there and staying one night before heading to San Fran. Any cool spots to stay? Or hang outs? bars? beaches?

Segovia's is a cool spot, I was there last year on NYE. Sort of a local hangout, small but lots of character.

Hula's on Lighthouse (not far from MBA) has some great food. (or did the last few times I was there...been 3 years since I made the drive)

There's some hotels near Asilomar state beach there. Don't know the names but I've heard they're okay.
Also, there's an embassy suites in Seaside next to Monterey. Pretty hard to miss from Hwy 1.

There are some nice hotels right on Cannery Row, but they ain't cheap! Hell, this time of year, Motel 6 will probably set you back AT LEAST $100/night...it was about that much 10 years ago when I worked down there.
