yeah where you can't get broadband and have to drive 450 miles to the nearest "general store" that has to custom order things like blocks of ice and milk because they're non-standard items apart from the rope, 200lb sacks of flour, and lanterns.

Don't ever leave California. Please, stay. If you ever DO leave, please round up all the other loonies (you know, transplanted Californians) and take them back there.

PLEASE.

I too was being sarcastic.

Anyone who would enjoy the small town life clearly is either small minded or seriously disconnected from the real world.

Then stay in CA. Too many people transplanted from CA up here already. Most get up here and say "Oh, it is so beautiful" and by the second winter do nothing but b$tch about how cold it is in wintertime.

Absolutely

In that case, you're obviously the typical Californian and won't understand. Carry on. Where ever you choose to retire, please do not choose Oregon until I'm dead or I've moved out of the state.

lol, mmkay. BTW, Oregon is far far from my mind. Cal>Oregon.

I have relatives in Montana, near Billings.

I kinda feel at home there to an extent, since it's similar countryside to Alberta.
