Just curious to see if there are any peeps from Minnesota here. If so where about? Sick of winter yet? Maybe we could all meet and down a few at a local place. Later!

Yup :D There's quite a few of us over in the FS/FT forum.

I'm from Windom in the southwest corner of the state. If you've driven from the Cities to Sioux Falls, you've probably went through Windom (highway 60).

Went to the Twins ALCS game with a fellow AT'er a few years back. Good times :)

Originally from Wisconsin, but now live in Minneapolis. Supposed to be in the mid 50s this week! That's pretty much short sleeve time for the Cities... :)

I could be in MN in about 10 minutes, depending on traffic. I'm in Grand Forks, ND.

Crazy, when did you graduate? I'm going there now.

whatever that drive through vietnamese resturant on division is... it's tastey

Hmmm...I can't say I've ever had vietnamese food. The first thing that came to mind when I read that was lee ann chin though. I really have no idea what kind of food they serve. It's funny though, if you google "lee ann chin," the first thing that comes up is a page called "The Worst Restaurants in Minneapolis." Maybe that's not it. I go down division every day on my way to work, maybe I'll keep an eye out and report back.

edit: Looks like lee ann chin is chinese

Wait a minute... You live in MN and you don't know what Leeann Chin is??? Those things are all over the place! How can you *not* know what Leeann Chin is? I miss good Chinese food :( The only good Chinese food down here in Oklahoma is P.F. Chang's, and that's way too expensive for me (extremely good though).

I've never eaten Asian food. Well, I should say that I've never eaten Asian food out. I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between Chinese food and vietnamese food if it was sitting right in front of me. If I eat out, which is not often, it's either a) Taco Johns or b) subway

There is a PF Changs in Minneapolis, but for the best go to Willow Gate by Rosedale mall. I'm in Roseville, just north of St. Paul.

I was down in Fairmont a coupe of weekends ago, is the far from Windom?

About 45 miles from Windom.

Take I-90 from Fairmont until you get to Jackson, then take hwy 71 north and you're here :)

Leann Chin is so Americanized that the only thing Chinese about it is the last part of the name. Best Chinese food I've had was in Vancouver, Canada. It's cheap and the cooks are actually Chinese. A lot of the cooks from China have settled there and it rivals the food in back in China. I can't say much for the Twin Cities Chinese food restaurants, except that Leann Chin SUCKS! Village Wok near the east side of the University (forget the street it's on, but it's near the Huron St Exit on 94) is way better than Leaan Chin.

If you want good Vietnamese food, go to Saigon on University and Dale in St. Paul. They have kickass Vietnamese sandwiches, pho, and Vietnamese cuisine. It's cheap and it's good. Pho 79 is also very good down in South Minneapolis.
